Bhajjis

It’s really unfortunate how the pandemic had hit this place hard. Otherwise, this place would have really shined well. One of my biggest disappointments at many places which serve bhajjis is that they are mostly served cold or warm. Bhajjis restaurant makes the bhajjis after you order them, and therefore you get the best ever experience of having piping hot spicy bhajjis with all the relevant chutneys! Bhajjis is also a multi-cuisine restaurant and almost everything here that we ate so far tastes quite good. Their Schezwuan chicken fried rice with with chilly chicken is a great combination. Chicken 65 with egg noodles is also awesome. Chicken Dum biryani is definitely worth trying out here.

Taco Bell

For real light snacks, Taco Bell is the place to go! Their refreshing shredded lettuce in their taco soothes your palette so well, that I can eat Tacos every day! There is no particular choice to make here – you can have any of the veg or non-veg tacos. Am not a fan of beans for example, so I avoid those burritos. Soft Taco Mexican Chicken, Soft/Crunchy Taco Fajita Veg, 7 layer burrito meal (without the beans ofcourse 😉) – these are some very good Tacos and burritos you can have here.

Sandwich Eatery

On a given evening when you are in the mood to eat some light awesome snacks, look no further! These people make one of the best sandwiches in town. We’ve tried Simple Veggies grilled; Jalapeno Chicken; Hot Garlic Chicken; Sprouts Grilled (!); Corn Cheese and Egg Mayo! We were never disappointed with any of their sandwiches. In addition to this, they make awesome pasta too! We had their Broccoli Pasta and White pasta – they came in piping hot and were perfect for the cold evening that day!

Fusion9 (Eat9)

Snacks time! So I had this craving for Tiramisu, and knew this place would have it. What we didn’t expect was that the other snacks will be quite good too! We tried the Chicken Quiche (heard of Quiche innumerable times on MasterChef Australia) for the first time, and liked it very much. There was this pastry called the – Chocolate Log! It looked like an actual log :D, and tasted very very good! If you go here, this is a must have. Then we had a garden sandwich which was also good. And ofcourse, Tiramisu J. In summary, nice place to go.

Venky's

Our very own snack bar :D – I liked this place a lot J - quick and tasty food, and is very ideal for evening time get-togethers. Except for their katti roll, all other items are quite good here! Their chicken samosas, veg kabab, chicken and cheese nuggets, tender grilled chicken (especially the bread that comes along with this is soft and yum!) etc are all very good. If you get a chance, do visit this place!

KFC

I have never been a fan of their fried chicken - somehow was never attractive. But off late, they came up "Feiry chicken" too ! And this item is quite good! Basically grilled with spices exclusively to KFC, this item is a toned down version of the their fried chicken. Their popcorn chicken is also worth a try. Their "Zinger burgers" are also good for a quick snack.

However, there are many others who like their fried variety too, so I guess if you haven't tried KFC at all, you can give a try for both fried and fiery chicken and choose your favorite!

Mayur Pan Shop

This is more about what we get outside the Pan shop than what we get in it :). This Pan shop is located at a stone's throw distance from Papaji ka Dhaba, and also houses Chat/Snacks corner, and this is what blows you off. The Masala Pav Bhaaji is simply out of this world. Soft, cut into pieces, and served with apt masals on it, it will only leave you yearning for more. We can still feel the taste, and the yearning only increases! Pani Puri is also good.

And then there is the Grilled Sandwich. Three bread pieces on top of each, cut into 4 pieces, with the right mixture of vegetables, pudina chutney and cheese.... ahaaaaa... :) :)

And ofcourse, eat the special pan inside the Pan shop and your day is done! We haven't tried other stuff there, but surely we will go again to try. Also, this corner also has a juices stall.
Location: Abids (very near to Papaji Dhaba)

Country Oven

I think this is the first place to integrate both Bakery and Chinese stuff! Mutton Chops, all chinese items, and the cakes are the specialities. Country Oven runs an online service to order and send cakes to your loved ones. I have used that service many times, and never once have I been disappointed. I strongly recommend http://www.countryoven.com/ for any cakes/sweets/gifts you want to send to people in india ( that includes me ;-) )

Location: Greenlands

Baker’s Inn

If you want to order cake, then this is the place to do it ! Always fresh and yummy, you will yearn for more! I like only the pastries and cakes here. Other bakery stuff like buns, puffs, rolls are not as good as Big Byte!

Also, these people are now serving chat and chinese too. Chat is not upto the mark. Chinese cuisine is good in taste, but it takes 20 minutes to serve which is a pain!

Location: Somajiguda

Maharaja Chat Bandar

Am borrowing a review written by another friend, because this is the only way we can review that place!

If you are a fellow die-hard roadside chat-aholic, then look no further for heaven, for Maharaja Chat Bhandar, located near Madhapur Police Station holds the key! They have now opened up opposite to Raheja IT park too. What started off as an actual bandi, with three and half people managing it, now has multiple branches in the city!

Try a first course of Alu Tikki, then savour your Pav Bhaji laden with butter, and finish off in style with a round of Dahi Puri. While you wait for the Pav Bhaji to be made, you can easily have a taste of their Bhel Puri too!

Coffee World

There is only one recommendation to make here. Chicken Tikka Sandwich ( On brown bread ONLY ). Coffee and other items can happily take a back seat while eating this! Also, NEVER order the lemon jal jeera at this place. The combination just isn't right! This place also shares the menu with Pizza Corner. I have had some ver y bad experiences ( taste wise) with Pizza Corner located opposite the Mufakkam Jah College, some 10 years back, and from then on haven't preferred to eat with them!

Location: Shilpakala Vedika campus, Hitech City Junction

Cuisine: Snacks!

Cost: For two: Rs.250-300/-

Gokul Chat

Actually the must eat item I'd recommend here is not any chat item, but the Rs.5 ka Softy Ice Cream!!! Do NOT leave the place without eating it! This is one of the places that still give us this ice cream :D!

And now coming to the chat items, whatever this place serves is special! Hence its stature as the best place to have chat. My personal favorites are the Bhel Puri, Sev Puri, Bhajji, and Pani Puri. This place is always very crowded, and this was one of the main reasons this place was attacked by terrorists. Students never miss to eat here, because this is located right in the middle of multiple book stores. And once you eat here, you will want to come back again and again for sure!

Location: Koti

Cuisine: Chat

Cost for two: Rs.80 – 100/-!

Chutneys

This restaurant recently got into national news because Rahul Gandhi had tiffin at this place. He had Guntur Idli and Steam Dosa. Both good choices, I must say! It took me a long time after the restaurant actually opened to visit it, but after my first visit, I liked the place much better than the "Grand Old Hotels", Shanbhag and Kamat. This place serves us with 5 chutneys unlimited, for any kind of tiffin we order. Both the Guntur Idli, and the Babai Hotel Idli are must for anyone entering this place. If your apetitite still permits, have the mint dosa, or the steam dosa. If your apetitite still permits, have the onion and tomato Uttappam. By now, your apetite would have been saturated :D! There is also this dish in which they serve us with four different small uttapams ( mint, onion, tomato, and karam). I did not like the mint and the karam uttapam as much I liked the other two, so I ordered just the Onion and Uttappam during my next visit J. aND DON'T FORGET THEIR COFFEE! This place also serves South Indian and North Indian thalis for lunch and dinner, but is best known for tiffins and hence we shouldn't miss a chance to have them instead of the regular meals.

Siddique Kababs

Actually the "meal for two" is a mis-nomer here, for one cannot have a "meal" here :D We have always parceled the food from here, met at Sandeep's place, watched a match, played "7 card" show and dispersed with a heavy stomach! Tangdi Kabab, Tandoori Grilled Chicken (half and full), Reshmi Kabab; I keep forgetting the name, but the chicken is in green colour ;-); all these are very good snack items. Make sure you don't eat the fried rice, or any other item that is put in the dishes there. Not only are they bad, they actually spoil the fun of tasting the truly awesome kababs here.
