Barbeque Pride

This is close on the heels of the other Barbeque places in the city, but their spread is far more than any other Barbeque place. They have Chinese, Italian, Pizza, Indian, Dosa counter and Grill counter for their main course! Dosa with chicken or mutton curries is a heavenly combination, whoever makes it! The starters are served onto your table on a barbeque – and are similar to what the other places serve. The taste is quite good, and if you want spice variations, they’d be very happy to serve them too! Their dessert spread is also quite good, and would recommend this place for team lunches for sure!

Smokey House

Located right opposite the Raheja IT park, the accessibility of this place to 1000s of hungry souls is quite good! Their concept is similar to the Barbeque places that have come up around the city in recent times. Their food is also equally tasty! All of their starters that they serve on the barbeque on your table taste quite good. The fish and prawns especially stand out. I also liked their grilled mushrooms a lot (ordered multiple of those!). Their main course was also equally impressive – especially their mutton dishes. In the three times I have been here, liked their mutton dish the most! In desserts, they serve a pineapple jalebi which was quite innovative (and tasty)!

AB's - Absolute Barbeques

Similar on the lines of Barbeque Nation. But these guys have a live counter that serves noodles with a variety of meat – Emu, Quail, Duck, Shark etc. I tried the Shark and didn’t like it much. The Duck and the Quail were good, but since this is served by mixing a variety of spices, sometimes it is difficult to get the taste of their meat. Their normal menu is quite good though – but like I said, it’s like Barbeque Nation – so it will suffice if you read about Barbeque Nation J

36 BBQ

The concept is similar to Barbeque Nation, but somehow the quality and spread of the food doesn't match it.

However, the food was good. Fish and Chicken Kababs were good. The Mushroom grill was good. In the main course, the fish pulusu and chicken curry was good too. Somehow my mind was just at Barbeque Nation all the time, and maybe that's why didn't enjoy much here.

Plus, we had a very very bad service. The head waiter apologised saying they were not accustomed to handle so much crowds, but then I guess a bad service stays on in your mind!

Either way, I guess you can still try out the food here and decide for yourself :)

Price: ~450 for Buffet

Barbeque Nation

This restaurant has only buffet for both lunch and dinner. And for those of us who are bored with routine chilly chickens, dum biryanis, paneer tikkas, tandoori masalas etc – Barbeque nation is a refreshing change from the ordinary. The concept of starters is interesting here. Once you settle down, the waiters will bring and place a grill (with hot coal in it), right in the central opening on your table. And on this, you can grill your own starters! For lunch, you have 5 starters. 3 vegetarian, and 2 non vegetarian. I must say, though am not a big fan of veg, the veg starters were also very good in taste. Non Veg starters are typically chicken and mutton. All these are bought to the table in the on barbeque spikes, and we get to use the grill on our table to heat them up! Isn't that an experience you would want to have? For dinner, you have more starters! Infact, you have 5 non-veg starters! Fish, Prawns, Chicken and Mutton J. Especially the prawns are a very big hit during dinner time. Ohh, and mind you, we haven't even looked at the main course buffet yet! It is similar for both lunch and dinner. There are 4 non veg items (yes, you heard it right! Apart from the starters, there are 4 more non-veg items), some 8 veg items, 6 salads and 8 desserts!! You can add your own flavour, from a choice of three flavours, to your ice cream. The mini gulab jumans are a treat to watch and eat ;-). The pastries, puddings etc are all soft that melt as soon as you eat them! Now, for the bad part L. When the restaurant is full (which it is for most of the time), the service gets very tardy and slow. Especially during dinner time, I have always had bad experiences with the service. I generally made it a point from then on to go there early so that I can get the best service. Apart from this one glaring glitch, the experience of eating food here (multiple times, that too ;-) ), has always been fulfilling and appetizing. You must surely enter this nation of the barbeques!
