100N

There are many dishes at this place that are repeat worthy! Both their grilled chicken sandwich and veg club sandwich are very tasty and repeat worthy. The Russian salad, Ceasar Salad, Coleslaw sandwich, fruit bowls – pretty much everything that I’ve ordered from here has not been a disappointment!

My Boli

These days the concept of “Welcome Drink” is to mix soda with sugar and add some flavoured syrup to it. It’s almost like as if they want you to feel full before starting the main meal! And that’s why the Kokam Sharbat that was served as welcome drink in My Boli was doubly refreshing! This is a Maharashtrian cuisine based restaurant and I learnt that Kokam Sharbat and Kokam Soda are quite popular drinks in that state. If they taste like this, it is no wonder that they are so popular! Before talking about the starters, I need to first talk about their Chicken and Mutton Thali. Both from a quality and quantity perspective, these two thalis score very high marks. When they wrote “soup” as part of the Thali, I really expected some Dal soup or something like that! What we got was an actual mutton soup and it’s real been years since I’ve had soup like that! The chicken and mutton curries are also quite tasty and go very well with the rice and chapatis. I would simply go back just for these items, I want to say, but I also had another revelation in life there – that you can have poori with aamras and experience heaven! Oops, I forgot about the starters – we had a veg platter (the kothimbir wadi was the best!) and a full pompret fry. Zero complaints on these items too. I would keep going back to this place for trying out more of these dishes! Welcome to Hyderabad, My Boli!

Manchi Baphe

True to their name (which translates to Good Buffet), this restaurant has really wide variety of items in their buffet that so totally justifies their pricing. While the options in their starters and main course are very impressive (especially the non-veg ones 😊), I want to highlight the really great offerings of the desserts in their buffet. The buffet options in desserts are really exhaustive and include some great items such as Tres Leches too 😊.  They also have multiple live counters – chat, dosa, pasta, pan, sugarcane juice etc! I’d strongly recommend that you try the dosa with any of the non-veg curries. In addition to all these multiple offerings, the ambience of this place is also quite good. For sure, we will keep going back to this place!

Churrolto

What a find this place was! In the peak of summer, if you have their Summer salad, I am very confident that you will also want to visit their place again and again! But Salad is not the only good thing to eat here. Their Pizzas and Pastas are equally quite good and definitely much better than the Risotto. The jus they serve along with Jamacian Jerk Chicken is very unique and will leave you wanting for more. The rice noodles with fish is much better than their steamed fish with cauliflower mash. And of course, if you are in Churroltos you got to eat their Churros! The best dish amongst the Churros is the Churro Baklava – I would strongly recommend this dish! This place also has good desserts (Mango Parfait, Tiramisu and Chocolate Mouse were quite good!).

Pondy Parottas

One of the few places in the city that prepares kothu parathas. Their Egg kothu paratha, Chicken kothu paratha and even their Veg kothu paratha are very tasty. For a simpler meal, you must try just plain paratha with their egg burji curry – you will not leave disappointed!

Eunoia

The most interesting dessert I seen here was the coffee crème brulee. Anything coffee and the finger immediately says order! The coffee crème brulee is awesome here. Their Tiramisu also is good but I think this is from the same Desserts & Co that is served at places like Roast and Ci Gusta.

Raju gari Vindu

Was interested in this place after seeing some good egg options. Their Egg fried pulao was indeed very tasty. In addition to this, the Egg Schezwan fried rice with their Gobi Manchurian was also really good. True to their name, it felt like a king’s meal 😊

Blue Fox

One of the oldies of Hyderabad! Their Chinese items are good – chicken fried rice, schezqan chicken fried rice, chicken 65, chilly chicken, chicken drumsticks, hakka noodles – all have retained their taste since many many years! In Indian, their Tangdi kababs are good starters and their special chicken biryani (boneless basically) is also a favorite of mine 😊.

Tabla

I think they have the best Mixed Nonveg fried rice in the city! They have generous portions of egg, chicken and prawns in the rice and yet nothing overpowers your taste buds. Chilly Chicken and Chicken-65 are also quite good. We once tried their Special mutton fry but didn’t find it great. However, we tried their egg biryani once and liked it too!

Saharsh Udupi Grand

Anything Udupi and finger on the phone automatically wants to order from there! Located in Kondapur, their tiffins and chutneys are quite good. I had Set Dosa, Idly, Masala Dosa and Uttapam – all of them tasted quite good with their chutneys! Eating hot poori with the aloo curry in their spacious restaurant is also a good experience!

Pakka Local

Have you ever heard of a biryani called Gilli Biryani? That name immediately caught my attention in the menu, and we asked the chef what this was about. He told us this will be prepared after we order it, is spicy and also tasty! True to what was told, this Gilli Biryani was indeed awesome! Will definitely repeat this order the next time I will go here!

Also, there are two new dishes here that I haven’t seen elsewhere. One is Spicy Mini Veg basket. From the name I was assuming it will be a platter of some vegetables. However, this is a veg mix that is served in a crispy shell. The taste was very good, but the dish was not as hot as one would like it to be! The second dish is Coconut Fried Chicken! This is served on a stick (like Satay) but is deep fried. And the coconut taste stays with you for a while, so the dish is very nice! Pakka Local basically offers all types of cuisine, and can be visited multiple times!

Tim Tai

True to their attractive name, they also offer an attractive menu of Asian cuisine. The Tom Yum soup here is as good as it can get for us 😊.  For starters, their steamed fish wrapped in banana leaf is one of their best dishes. The Dimsum platter (both veg and non-veg) are super light, and tasty too. Similar to Calamari dish, they have tempura squid too. I’ve had the Thai Chilli Basil noodles and Khao Pad rice during one visit. Nothing to complain about 😊. However, what stood out in a later visit was the Thai Massaman Curry and Malaysian Rendang Curry for the main course! These dishes were again as good as they could get!

Dhaba Estd 1986 Delhi

Sudden lunch plans are always good. Been to this place with colleagues after hearing from it from others! This is a small place in Kondapur, and they offer limited but a tasty buffet. Starters are served on table, and we ordered multiple servings of their Tawa Fish! It was very tasty. In their main course, Butter Chicken was quite tasty, and their desserts of phirni, gulab jamun etc were also quite good. Their ambiance has the typical notice boards we would find in a dhaba, and there was a flash dance that the waiters did too! Been here only once though.

Mama Goto

This place serves very good Asian Buffet! The wait time to get the first starter served is also quite less. I found their momos (both Veg and Chicken) to be quite light and very tasty. Their fish and prawn starters were also quite good, but their soup did stand out in its taste! For the main course, they had a cariety of Thai and Chinese dishes – all of which tasted quite good. At some places, the stomach feels heavy after eating only a little fried rice. Not here! The cost is decent too – I would recommend this place anytime 😊

Minerva Grand

This is the Kothaguda restaurant we are talking about (There is Minerva Coffee shop, and there is Minerva Grand). The buffet has the usual options which taste good. For dinner, you have to order from the menu – the chicken spring rolls stood out J. The fish was also good – and we ordered the usual noodles, fried rice and biryani – no complaints.

Cafe Heart Cup

This place is tucked away under the more famous F9 lounge bar in Kondapur, and was a great find by Sandeep bhai! The place serves European and Indian cuisine. Best part is that they serve stuff in lunch portions and not in bulk portions. So if you order their Mutton Rogan Josh lunch combo – you get the right amount of curry with the right amount of white rice – thereby making your life easier!

You can also try their pastas, which are quite tasty. For starters, you SHOULD order "tawa fish" and "chicken barbeque drumsticks". They are just brilliant, especially the tawa fish that is neatly wrapped in a banana leaf  and is piping hot! For main course, you can try the option suggested above. Or you can order their "Steamed fish with brown rice". This will fill your stomach till dinner time for sure! Or order the Sea Food sizzler - another filler till dinner! (whatay rhyming ;) )

This place deserves multiple visits to do full justice. I'd say, if your friend is ready to burn some money, choose this place!

Svadh

For the first time ever, we tasted a new type of naan called Taftan! This is apparently a north Indian speciality and we all loved this! Totally different from the routine mundane plain naan/butter naan we always have! We had Chicken Drumsticks and Tangdi Kabab that were good too. Forgot the curries we ordered, but no complaints on their taste! Their biryani was average though – definitely not having this item the next time we go

Price Range: 500-700 for two
Location: On the Botanical Garden road.

Indu's Food Court

This is not a food court per se; but calls itself so, because they dish out many items of our choice J:) This eat-out is located outside Ratnadeep supermarket on the Kondapur-Gachibowli road.

We were a large group that day and so we ordered Biryani, Noodles, Fried Rice, and Chicken 65. All were very good, though it took some time for him to get all this ready! This place is nice for a quick bite, just like the Chinese bandis!

Price Range: Rs. 200-300 for two
Location: Outside Ratnadeep on Kondapur-Gachibowli road

Swagath De Royal

Initially, there was some negative feedback about this place and I never bothered to try going there. However, just for the heck of it, we decided to go try it out. I think they had a whole new menu since the last time I heard about them!

The lunch was very impressive. Good salads (the pasta and chat salads were very good). Their main course spread is also very good. They had very tasty biryani, and also were making and serving apam (though there was a big line for this!). Desserts were also good.

I have again been to this place recently and find the quality still intact. Definetely would recommend this place.

Price: ~300 for lunch buffet
Location: Kondapur

Hitech Bawarchi

I guess the reason why the original Bawarchi restaurant in RTC x roads has a "We do not have any branches anywhere" is places like Hitech Bawarchi. Sandeep bhai tells us that the biryani is very good here, and therefore we all meet up here for lunch. First, the service is very slow. I even ordered soup, but ended up being disappointed with it. Chicken-65 has been ordered - and it was ok. And then came the big thing - chicken and mutton biryani ! The order was not properly taken. Mutton biryani had just 6 pieces. Taste was not great at all!

So we question Sandeep bhai -he tells us that he always took parcel and that always turned out to be good. This was vouched for, by another friend. Anyways, the experience turned out to be pretty bad and for sure we are not going back to this place!
