Thyme and Whisk

What a find (patting myself on the back)! This is a vegetarian only place. The Asparagus nuts soup is very good. The most heavenly experience though is their – very nicely named - Blue Butterfly Pea Water Chestnut Cream Cheese dimsum. I don’t know if it is the cream cheese or the water chestnut or whatever it is they put to make it look blue – but this dimsum was heavenly! Though their Hot Cow Boy sizzler sounded like an exciting dish, we ended up ordering the Pattaya Massaman Sizzler and just gobbled up the whole thing! The sizzler used nice glass noodles and the right amount of vegetables and spices. The Jalapeno Cheese poppers were also a good appetizer to begin with.

Tashi

Tucked away in a small bylane near the Peddamma Temple in Jubilee Hills, Tashi has been an excellent find for us! It is a veg only restaurant and offers almost everything that is on the menu in Jain options too. The variety on the menu is very impressive and requires multiple visits to try out these awesome options! We had the Taco Salad, which was fresh and very tasty! Their dim sums are certainly something worthy returning to eat! The Red Thai Curry along with rice is one of the best you will find in the city, taste wise (though I would have preferred it to be a little more runny!). The Hakka noodles and Tibetan Thupka are also very good here – especially the Thupka!

California Burrito

Had ordered Tacos from here and was bowled over by the taste of these tacos! In addition to what they put in the Tacos, I had ordered additional guacamole, extra cheese and Chiptole Mayo as separate toppings. The Chipotle Mayo is simply awesome – it elevated the taste of the Fajita Veg Taco to another level only! The ones with Guacamole also were quite good. Overall, this is light healthy and more importantly very tummy-satisfying snacks.

Taco Bell

For real light snacks, Taco Bell is the place to go! Their refreshing shredded lettuce in their taco soothes your palette so well, that I can eat Tacos every day! There is no particular choice to make here – you can have any of the veg or non-veg tacos. Am not a fan of beans for example, so I avoid those burritos. Soft Taco Mexican Chicken, Soft/Crunchy Taco Fajita Veg, 7 layer burrito meal (without the beans ofcourse 😉) – these are some very good Tacos and burritos you can have here.

IndiBlaze

Never been to their place, but placed so many orders online from them, that I lost count! And I repeat just one order – Grilled Mushroom Edi Bowl! What an awesome idea this bowl is! You get all kinds of great ingredients, the right amount of spice and cream, and the edible crust! The bowl is light yet filling, and that’s the best part of it. I have also tasted their pizza and wrap, but I went back to the bowl, because like I said, what an awesome idea!

Habanero

I had this sudden yearning for Mexican food. The last place I remembered eating was Tex-Mex, some years ago! Did a quick search and found Habanero! Went here for lunch on a hot afternoon – ordered the Holy Guacamole (I am a die-hard fan of anything made with Avacado. I wanted to return to Habanero some other day, so I called them enquiring if Holy Guacamole was available. They said no – so I didn’t go!). The other starter we ordered was Jalapeno poppers – which was quite yummy too. We also ordered a Fajita, Quesidilla, and Salads – all of them were very good and as flavourful as you would expect them to be J. And their Mojito drink was sooo soothing – a perfect drink for the hot afternoon!

TGIF

Thank God it’s Friday :D. I saw Avocado on Tuna chips, and I got tempted. Despite not liking Tuna, ordered this dish for Avocado J. Since they didn’t have Tuna on that day, they served it with Salmon. This is a very filling starter! Grilled Salmon in the main course was also good. However, the chicken quantity in the pepper chicken dish was very little. Also, we had a cheesy starter (I forgot the name)-  tortilla flour deep fried with cheese and onions – I like some Cheese items very much  and this just got added to the list.

Santosh Jubilee

You would expect a restaurant with this name to be serving Continental food, but hold your breath – this one serves Indian, Italian, and Mexican Cuisines!! It serves Inter-Continental food !

There's more to come. This is a only veg restaurant, and also has a bar! Since this is only veg, I have never been here! A colleague however had some very nice words about this place, and am placing them here for reference!

"This is a unique Indian/Italian pure vegetarian restaurant with bar. We tasted the Italian pizza and other starters. Food was very delicious. Lots of variety of veg Indian/Italian and Mexican dishes available here."

Location: Adjacent to Reebok Showroom, Jubilee Hills

Cuisine: Italian/Mexican Vegetarian

Tex Mex

Well, It's been more than an year since I ate here, so I don't remember the exact menu, but I had real fun having the sizzlers, and also a mexican fish variety. When this restaurant was first started some 8 years back, the ambience also used to reflect Mexican place, but now it has been clubbed with another Indian restaurant – Shikaar. All I can say is that this is a good place to go and try out a different cuisine.

By the way, the newly opened KRR mall opposite L.V.Prasad Eye Institute has a Mexican Food Joint called Jalapenos (pronounced as Halapenos!). Have the Guacamole there – that's the Mexican special! It is just a side dish though!
