Haldirams

All your life, you’ve had only their namkeens. Now time to enjoy their equally awesome food too! One of the last places I would have expected a Mysore Masala Dosa to taste awesome is a place with the name Haldirams. It was really a pleasant surprise to have the tasty Mysore Masala Dosa along with their super tasty coconut and tomato chutneys! So I got intrigued and ordered Idli Sambhar – and the sambhar was as authentic as it could get! We had also ordered Veg Biryani and it had the right amount of spices and vegetables that made eating it an awesome experience! This place keeps throwing good surprises with each dish – am getting ready for more surprises! Very strangely though, they do not serve Jain food in their restaurant.

Far East Asia

There are very few restaurants who make the awesome Tibetean Thupka. And Far East Asia is one of them! Their Thupka Noodles bowl is a festival for the digestive system! The momochas are one of the best light starters one can imagine of having before a hearty meal. Their coconut milk flavoured Khow suey Noodles bowl is also really awesome. Their Thai curries (both green and red), with the rice bowls are worth trying multiple times too!

Bhajjis

It’s really unfortunate how the pandemic had hit this place hard. Otherwise, this place would have really shined well. One of my biggest disappointments at many places which serve bhajjis is that they are mostly served cold or warm. Bhajjis restaurant makes the bhajjis after you order them, and therefore you get the best ever experience of having piping hot spicy bhajjis with all the relevant chutneys! Bhajjis is also a multi-cuisine restaurant and almost everything here that we ate so far tastes quite good. Their Schezwuan chicken fried rice with with chilly chicken is a great combination. Chicken 65 with egg noodles is also awesome. Chicken Dum biryani is definitely worth trying out here.

Srinidhi Restaurant

It was one of those when the stomach craved for all kinds of food – the place didn’t matter! And so when Srinidhi Restaurant showed up on Swiggy, I just went about ordering a combination of things – and ended up liking the food very much! Their Manchow soup was the right thing I needed that day! Butter Naan with Egg Burji satisfied the egg cravings of the day. And the Gongura Paneer biryani satisfied the spice cravings for the day!

Friends foods – Taste of Tamil Nadu

Another heavenly place where you get Gunta Ponganalu – the item is called Paniyaram in Tamil I guess. The taste of Paniyaram was excellent but what was a pleasant surprise was the taste of their onion chutney. This chutney also goes very well with the awesome Onion Rava Dosa, Podi dosa and Mysore Masala Dosa. For sure, this place has been favorited for getting some real hot and tasty tiffins!

Pondy Parottas

One of the few places in the city that prepares kothu parathas. Their Egg kothu paratha, Chicken kothu paratha and even their Veg kothu paratha are very tasty. For a simpler meal, you must try just plain paratha with their egg burji curry – you will not leave disappointed!

Eunoia

The most interesting dessert I seen here was the coffee crème brulee. Anything coffee and the finger immediately says order! The coffee crème brulee is awesome here. Their Tiramisu also is good but I think this is from the same Desserts & Co that is served at places like Roast and Ci Gusta.

Raju gari Vindu

Was interested in this place after seeing some good egg options. Their Egg fried pulao was indeed very tasty. In addition to this, the Egg Schezwan fried rice with their Gobi Manchurian was also really good. True to their name, it felt like a king’s meal 😊

Panda Pavillion

Yet to explore this place fully but just the one time we ordered Egg Singapore Fried Rice and Gobi Manchurian didn’t disappoint.

Squeeze @ The Lime

Tucked away in a bylane of Gachibowli, this veg only restaurant is part of the hotel named The Lime (and named Squeeze! Get it? 😊). We were never disappointed in the multiple visits to this place. Tomato Soup with Basil oil is very refreshing. Sarson wala Broccoli was good. Tandoori Tikka Sizzler and Flaming Sichuan Dumpling sizzlers are very tasty. Veg Manchuria with piping hot noodles is yet another good combination here. We had once ordered Pizza from here and that was also quite good! How can you go to Squeeze @ The Lime and not have anything lemony? Therefore, you must have their refreshing Lemonade Lime!

Akson Restaurant

As a kid, I was always excited to pass by this restaurant in Panjagutta, because we could get to see the chefs make the famous Kerala Porotta (I still get excited seeing the chef flip the porotta in the air!). So eating from here was a natural choice the moment I got a chance! I don’t think I will enjoy the parotta in any other place as much I do it here. This can be had with their amazing roast chicken curry or the egg masala curry or better yet, the egg burji. Their Fish fry also tastes good but even better is their chicken biryani too! They were a small café and have now become a nice restaurant 😊.

House of Dosas

This place is the best example of how to transform a simple and small menu into extraordinary tastes! Just the Idly with their peanut chutney is enough to experience bliss. And if you try their Dip Idly plate, then the bliss becomes extraordinary! They serve a variety of dosas, most of them not found anywhere else in the city. The specialty being their Bombay chutney they use as toppings in the dosas! Erra Karam dosa (with and without the Bombay chutney) is awesome. Pizza Dosa, surprisingly, is also awesome! Nutella Chocolate dosa is also good here. They also serve Gunta Ponganalu in the evenings – one of the best snacks one can imagine having in the evenings!

Telangana Spice Kitchen

What a place! I love it when we go in large groups to such places because we get to try multiple items in the menu at once. Chicken 65, Apollo Fish, Chitti royyala fry, Karimnagar Fried Wings, Korameenu Roast, Chilly mushrooms – were some real good starters here. Especially the chicken 65 and Karimnagar fried wings! The TSK Special chicken and mutton pulaos were also awesome.  And one of the hidden gems of this place is their Sambar rice – I don’t know how any combination can top a piping hot Sambar rice with chicken/mutton curries!

Indulge Ice-creams (At Almond House)

These ice creams will rank as one of the best in the city! Their Mango Chilly ice cream is simply awesome – you first get the taste of the Mango and then the taste of the chilly hits you. It’s an awesome experience every time you eat a spoonful of this ice-cream! Their coffee ice-cream is also very good. And another superb option is their Lime Gelato – it is so refreshing to the palate that you will go back asking for more!

Their other flavours are equally great too – the various chocolate options; the fresh fruit options (I loved their kala jamun ice-cream); the traditional options (vanilla etc) – all taste awesome. They serve these ice-creams in either cups or jars (depending on the size) and these become very useful in your homes too! If you haven’t gone here yet, find the nearest one and go. Go!

Prost Brew Pub

This will perhaps be the first review of a pub where drinks won’t be discussed! The food here is really really good. They offer a really large variety of cuisines and nothing has disappointed us so far! Chico Nachos are gooood, sauteed mushrooms (dish is called Prost Pilze) are nice, the chicken wings are awesome but the best starter I think is their Chicken 65! You should also try the Spicy Calamari, fish fingers and onion rings! The chicken popcorn and jalapeno cheese balls are also also good to be munching all along. One of the best things here is their Mini Burger Platter – we can happily taste of different burgers in small sizes instead of worrying about choosing which burger to eat! The Thai Curry, Chicken Biryani, any Pizza and Nasi Goreng are great main course dishes to have here.

Savla's Home Food

Many places claim to be home food but only few live up to the taste. Savla’s is definitely one such place. For me, the best example of home food was their Mango Juice during the summers 😊. Their thalis are sumptuous – dal is good, paneer butter masala is awesome, chole masala is good, pulkas and parathas are also very good. Other friends have mentioned how their Theplas are also quite good.

Roast

Located at a walking distance from office (in Raheja IT park!), we’ve often frequented this place for their coffee and desserts! Fresh brewed hot café latte and cappuccino are real mood lifters here. The pour over and Frenchpress coffees (essentially just coffee without the milk) are also awesome – if you have them after a tired day, all tiredness will be gone 😊. The cold frappes are also quite good here. The desserts at this place are by Dessert & Co. The ice-creams and Gelato here are very (very) good – almost all flavours are repeat-worthy. Specifically, I like their coffee ice-cream a lot. In addition, Tiramisu is awesome too.

Kshatriya Foods

A good recommendation from a friend made us first land at this place. Their local food options and the tastes were really good. Their Doopudu Gorre Pulav, made with chitti mutyalu rice was very very tasty. It was spicy yet tasty! All their starters were also very good – chicken fry, mutton fry, pomphret fry, Kouju Pitta roast (though I felt the odour was little strong from the kouju pitta!). Both the times we went, many of their items in the Seasonal Food menu weren’t available (was excited seeing Chinthachiguru mutton and panasa mukkala pulav, but both weren’t available). I think they are closed now because of the pandemic.

California Burrito

Had ordered Tacos from here and was bowled over by the taste of these tacos! In addition to what they put in the Tacos, I had ordered additional guacamole, extra cheese and Chiptole Mayo as separate toppings. The Chipotle Mayo is simply awesome – it elevated the taste of the Fajita Veg Taco to another level only! The ones with Guacamole also were quite good. Overall, this is light healthy and more importantly very tummy-satisfying snacks.

International Airport

There are a lot of branches of the popular eateries at the airport, so we won’t dwell into them! But if you are at the airport and haven’t eaten the Idli combo at the Idly Factory, then you are definitely missing out on some nice tasty idly varieties and the yummy sambar along with it! You should also try the Mysore Masala Dosa at Vaango, in the food court in the parking floor. Infact, all tiffins at Vaango are quite good and you shouldn’t miss them definitely. Cafe Latte and Cappucino at Costa Coffee is also a good companion while you drive back home from the airport. The parathas at Indian Paradise are awesome but the tiffins at Tiffin Express aren’t that great.

The Bowl Company

I like their concept – right quantity of meat/veggies along with flavoured rices! Their Caribbean Grilled Chicken with herbed rice is light on the stomach and very tasty too. So is the Peri Peri Chicken with Egg corn rice. Spicy Thai Basil chicken with garlic fried rice is also very refreshing, with the Basil especially!

Tatva

This is a veg only restaurant in Jubilee Hills, but it is a good veg-only restaurant too 😊. Malai Broccoli, Hara Bhara Kebab and Smoked Pesto Panneer Tikka are very good options to have here. The Veg Spring Rolls and Jalapeno Poppers are good too. The Wild Mushroom Risotto tastes good. The Veg Steak sizzler and Jain sizzler both taste quite good too. Methi Chaman with naan/kulcha also tasted quite good here.

TILT Bar Republic

Yet another bar with only food reviews 😝. My best food memory from here is their Chicken 65 and Spicy Fried Idly! Because we went in large groups, each time, we were were able to order enough plates to satisfy our apetitites! The Cheese Broccoli, Onion Rings, Pahadi Kabab, Fish & chips, Chicken wings are also very tasty here. I don’t recollect eating much of a main course here, because we were busy finishing just the starters!

Flying Sphagetti Monster

One of the best Italian cuisine places in Hyderabad! All their Bruscettas are very nice – I think it’s the sun-dried tomato and olive oil that makes the difference. You should try the ones with brinjal; artichokes; peppers; chicken and for simplicity sakes, just the fresh tomato ones. The names are quite tougue twisting though 😃 – so you should order the Crostini Melanzana if you want to eat the bruschetta with brinjal! Their Broccoli starter is quite tasty and any of their pasta/pizza can be had, depending on what sauce or toppings you will prefer. But what I liked here is their Risotto – especially Risotto Di Pollo. You can’t go to an Italian place and not have Tiramisu. Their Tiramisu is awesome and so is their Panna Cotta!

Van Lavino

The place looks imposing! True to how it looks, their food (especially the desserts) are also quite good. The crème brulee, the Tiramisu jar, the many pastries, chocolate éclair, tarts – they are all must try desserts here. We even once took their 1kg Tiramisu cake and absolutely enjoyed it.

Subayya gari hotel

I guess the experience of eating in the hotel will be very different from ordering this to home. Because of the pandemic, never got a chance to eat at the hotel. Their meals are quite famous in Kakinada and they have opened up in Hyderabad also now. Nothing much to complain about their meals 😊 – most curries and fry items are tasty and you will have a fulfilling meal once you eat here! In addition, their sweets are also good – we tried their “nuvvula undalu” as a separate order and liked them too.

Smoky Pitara

You would never think that a place named like this will be a veg only place! Located in Jubilee Hills you will get some smoky food in here! From their entire menu, I think their sizzlers are the best. Malai Broccoli, Cheese poppers and Paneer Tikka are good too.

Kangan (At The Westin)

Kangan is Westin’s Indian only cuisine place, and is open only for dinner. Have been here a couple of times as part of large office groups and I was pleasantly surprised by the variety and the flavour of various dishes they serve as part of their set menu. I first tasted Lobster in Kangan and simply loved the dish (maybe it’s the preparation of Lobster with familiar spices!). Their fish and prawn starters are also very tasty and well made. While Malai Broccoli is good, they had another veg starter – assorted veggies wrapped in Sago (saggubiyyam in telugu) – this was simply awesome. Mutton Rogan Josh with kulchas and naans, and any of their biryanis were also quite good. Ofcourse, this is a costly place 😊 – hence the trip with large office groups only!

GudGudee

I never thought I will like something made out of beetroot! Their description of Beetroot Kebab reads –“Pan fried beetroot kebabs packed with the goodness of beetroot with an interesting blend of flavours”. Am telling you – the flavours in the kebab are very (very) interesting! If I had to order just one item, it would be their beetroot kebab! This is to not take away anything from their other dishes. The Vietnamese Noodle Soup and Spicy Tom Yum soup were refreshing soups from the usual Chinese soups 😊. Exotic Vegetables in Hot Chilli Basil sauce with their piping hot noodles is a very good main course to have! Oh, and ofcourse the Jalapeno Cheese Poppers too!

Davanagere Benne Dosa

Very simple menu to choose from, but you will just keep wanting to go back here again and again for that awesome taste. Dosas with loads of butter and a batter that is very different from the usual hotel fare is the big hall mark. The coconut chutney and the smashed aloo paste that come along with the Benne Dosa are also very awesome. There is nothing much to choose here – just the quantity of Benne Dosa you want to have 😊.

Sodabottle Opener wala

The food is as unique and as good as the their name is! The best part is their portions, just enough for 1 person so that we don’t have to worry about sharing (and caring!). Eggs Kejriwal is great to start with. Classic Parsi Mutton pattice is a very refreshing dish compared to the typical sheikh kabab that usual gets served everywhere else! Kundapuri Prawn is unique. We tried their Mutton Berry Pulao and actually liked it (despite my inherent dislike for anything berry!). We also had their Chicken biryani. One of these dishes were served to us in carriage box 😊 (I don’t remember which one though!). The prices are a bit high but the unique taste and menu of this place warrants a visit occasionally for sure.

A’la Liberty

A veg only place opposite to Hitech city, they actually have a decent buffet to tickle your taste buds! I liked their noodles the best 😊. Their mushroom and paneer starters (that vary depending on the day) are quite tasty. They also used to serve different type of cutlets that are good too. The wet Veg Manchurian goes very well with their noodles.

Glocal

Many of us went, so we ordered many items! The Calamari was good; the patatas bravas was good with the sauce; the butter garlic mushrooms were good. Their mustard fish was also very tasty. The chicken wings and Thai Pot were also tasty. I don’t remember many of the veg items that were ordered 😊.

Flavours of Taj Mahal

One of the most satisfying starters in life are their Fried Idli starter! Irrespective of the time of the day, I’d strongly recommend that you have this dish here. For tiffins, their Set Dosa is quite good. The TMH Cutlet is indeed tasty, as they claim. Poori Kurma is yet another nice dish to have here. While the south Indian thali is good, their assorted roti basket with curries like Methi Chaman and Dal Makhni are preferrable!

Burger Division

They have Onion Rings! And they also have Cole Slaw! If you still need more reasons to go here, then they also serve an awesome Peri Peri Veg burger too! This place certainly looks interesting with their menu choice and therefore more orders are sure to go here!

Potful

Their concept is simple – your dum biryani order is put on the stove in a pot after you place the order. So you actually get it directly delivered with the seal intact on the pot! The aroma of the biryani when you open up the pot is simply awesome and may even half-fill your stomach! I’d have preferred if they had more pieces in both their mutton and chicken biryanis. Especially their mutton biryani had too less pieces and therefore not much of mutton flavour in them.

Farzi Cafe

The best thing about this place is their creativity. We would have heard or eaten pretty much everything on their menu but how they present those same dishes here is very unique! The food is a little heavy on the tummy though. Tempura Fried Prawns were very nice, Keema kulcha with mint jalapeno was nice, The Goan Fish curry with coconut rice was also quite good here. Beetroot and cream cheese tikki was good too (despite my dislike towards beetroot!) and the farzified Vada Pav also should be had here 😊.

Sherlock's

I see Jalapeno Chicken Poppers on any menu and I will make sure that it is ordered! Same with this place too – and they don’t disappoint at all. The BBQ Chicken wings were good. Fish Fingers with Tartar sauce also tasted good. We had Lasagne Alle Pollo (Chicken Lasagna) and Risotto – and were not disappointed with them.

Blue Fox

One of the oldies of Hyderabad! Their Chinese items are good – chicken fried rice, schezqan chicken fried rice, chicken 65, chilly chicken, chicken drumsticks, hakka noodles – all have retained their taste since many many years! In Indian, their Tangdi kababs are good starters and their special chicken biryani (boneless basically) is also a favorite of mine 😊.

Ciro’s Pizzeria

This was a new find (basically after I purchased Super Plan on Swiggy, I get orders from far off places too). And whatay nice find! We tried their “Crocchette Di Zucchine” starter – zucchini fried balls basically. They were simply yummy! We tried their Giardino Pizza because they had aubergine (brinjal) on it – and it was an awesome pizza because of all the other veggies on it. Also tried their Boscialoa Pizza because of the mushrooms and this one didn’t disappoint either! Surely, more orders will go out to this place.

Mandi@36

Tucked behind the staircase of the Metro station, this is a good place to have nice Mandi. We had their Mutton Juicy Marag Mandi and their Chicken Fried Mandi. The mutton one was better. Also, their flavoured rice with these items were good too. The mutton pieces could have been a little larger though.

Millet Express

A good millet place that serves not just breakfast but main course items too! Unfortunately, I haven’t had main course items yet from here 😊. Tried their Ragi Idly, Millet Puri and their Upma Dosa, and I liked all of them.

Maa Santosh Dhaba

Quick, tasty food! Their Tomato soup is good. Veg Manchuria is goooood. Chilly Paneer is also good. But what I like best in this place is their noodles! Eating those noodles gives you a nice dhaba feeling for sure 😊. Naan with Paneer Butter Masala is also a good combination to have here.

ITC Kohenur

The breakfast buffet is vast here. Like vast! Plus it’s also good how they spread the space of the buffet, it makes for easy selection of dishes based on the cuisine. All the Indian items in the breakfast were good (Idlis, upma, poori, dosas!). The breads are good; cheese options were good; congee was good; the various fruit options available were also quite good. We also loved the filter coffee they serve, in the filter coffee cups!

Behrouz Biryani

Simple menu, because they serve only biryanis and also don’t have a restaurant – they deliver from their kitchens I think! Chicken and Mutton biryanis were good – not too spicy but good flavour of the masala that differentiates them from the regular dum biryanis. I even got to taste their Paneer biryani but have no opinion to offer on it 😊

The Big Cup Theory

They actually have an impressive menu but both the times I went there, it was at times where we only wanted to have coffee! Their Café Latte was ofcourse good. We tried their Espresso Affogato and liked that too! As backup, we had ordered a Choco Lava cake, but we ended up liking both the coffee and the dessert!

Lo! – Low carb and Keto foods

Chanced upon this place and found their rolls to be quite nice – Keto Double Egg Roll, Keto Paneer Roll were quite tasty. Their overall menu looks interesting and more orders shall be placed from here in the future!

Goli Soda

While you don’t get the traditional Goli Soda, their beverages are really good. Fresh Coconut water, watermelon juice, Rose Milk, and the Cocomelon drink are really awesome and refreshing!

Chakkh de Punjab

This is a yummy Punjabi place 😊. The exotic named dish “Ghar wala chicken” tastes close to what you make at home. I like the concept of Patiala chicken in some of the Punjabi restaurants, where they wrap chicken in an omlette. Patiala chicken is good here. What’s a Punjabi place without parathas – Plain tawa paratha, Lachha paratha and Gobi Paratha were good.

Yum Yum Tree

We had the mutton juicy mandi here, but nothing so far has come close to what we had at 4 Seasons. The mutton pieces were smaller compared to 4 seasons, the rice was less tasty compared the 4 seasons too! However, their Grilled Fish Tikka was quite good. Haven’t ordered from here after this because I have always preferred 4 seasons over everything else!

Sweet Magic

They closed down, but their food was actually quite good. I think this was a branch of the Vijayawada restaurant with the same name. Both their tiffins and lunch/dinner items were good. They had poori with chicken curry (which many places, mysteriously don’t do!). Ravva dosa was another good item from their menu. Natu kodi pulusu, mutton biryani, chepala pulusu were all good items in this place.

Times Tiffins

Another nice tiffins place in Miyapur. Their packaging is also quite good. Idly ofcourse is good with their chutneys. Rava Masala Dosa, Upma Pesarattu and Masala dosa all tasted quite good too.

Punjabi Paratha House

To order from here is very simple because the menu is simple 😊. I liked the Gobi, Alu and plain lachcha paratha from here. I didn’t like the mooli paratha much.

Beijing Bistro

The name Lung Fung soup sounds odd, but the taste of this soup is quite awesome in Beijing Bistro! This place actually has some very good Thai and Chinese food. In addition to Lung Fung, Lemon Coriander Soup is quite good. Tom Yum Soup and the Chef’s special soup is also very tasty. Kung Pao Chicken, Veg Spring Roll and Drums of Heaven are good starters to have. Thai Basil Fried rice and Pad Thai noodles are also good for the main course.

Eagles Pizza

I’ve always liked their Pizzas! For some reason, they don’t get high ratings on various apps! I’ve tried veg and non-veg pizzas here and haven’t been disappointed. Peri peri chicken pizza was good, Aussie’s favorite Veg pizza was good (I know I know, lot of people don’t like pineapple on their pizza – I do!), Spicy Chicken was good, and their garlic bread was also good! Like I said, I don’t know why their ratings aren’t high!

Mr. Idly Dosa

I love the fancy names that come around Idly and Dosa! Yet another good tiffins place with good chutney too. Their Rava Dosa, Uttapams (plain, onion tomato), masala dosa, mysore masala dosa are all quite good with their yummy chutney! And ofcourse you can’t go wrong with idlies with a name like Mr. Idly Dosa 😊

Chaitanya Food Court

If you are in Kukatpally and haven’t heard about this place, then you are not in Kukatpally! One of the very popular joints despite pricing being a little on the higher side. We’ve tried many items here – some are good, some are average. Natu kodi biryani tastes quite well. Chicken Tikka is average but the tangdi kabab is quite good. Their usual chicken biryani is also quite good, but I heard that their Ulavacharu Chicken biryani is better! Their chicken schezwan fried rice and apollo fish are tasty too.

Tasty Bowl

Saw an interesting dish on their menu – Chicken 65 Sambar Rice. Got very tempted and ordered it. And for backup, I also ordered Chicken Fry Piece biryani. Turns out that the back up was better than the main item 😊 – I learnt that Chicken 65 and Sambar Rice don’t go well together!

Maa ooru biryani

What a concept, what a taste! Maa ooru biryani is one of the first places to introduce Donne Biryani. Donne are basically palm leaves. The aroma of the biryani when cooked and served in them is simply outstanding. It doesn’t matter if it is chicken, mutton or egg – the flavour of the biryani simply trumps everything else! The rice used is also a lighter variety – chitti mutyalu. It isn’t very heavy on your stomach (atleast mine 😉). One order of biryani is good enough for one person (no sharing please!). You can order any of the Chicken, Mutton or Egg biryanis from them.

Their starters are also quite good – Andhra Style Chilly Chicken and chicken lollypop are good. There is another option you should try  - kodi koora with either their Jonna roti or with white rice at your home! This curry has a real unique taste and am sure you will enjoy it!

Buffalo Wild Wings

For a while, this outlet was named B-Dubs - the Indianized name of the famous Buffalo Wild Wings in the US! I am a huge fan of this place – because of the variety of awesome sauces that come with their hot chicken wings! I think the best is the Mango Habanero sauce (we first had it in Ohio). It’s simply awesome how you first taste the mango and a few seconds later the habanero flavour hits your tongue! Other sauces I liked were the Thai Curry, Asian Zing, Chipotle BBQ, Peri Peri and Parmesan Garlic. I would always recommend the carrots and cucumber salad instead of the sauces to go along with these wings. In addition, you should also try the Jalapeno pepper bites and the Onion Rings! I once had their classic chicken wrap and wasn’t disappointed either!

Vasista Sri Lakshmi

Their South Indian menu items are quite tasty. Their  Allam Kodi Vepudu, Mutton Roast and Godavari Royyala vepudu taste very authentic. Telangana mamsam kura, natu kodi pulusu, Bheemavaram Kodi pulav, Pedamma mamsam pulav are all very good mains that will not leave you disappointed. Don’t worry, all of these have not been eaten at one go 😃 – they have been had over a period of time. Before I forget, you must try their mamsam pappucharu annam and experience food heaven!

Tabla

I think they have the best Mixed Nonveg fried rice in the city! They have generous portions of egg, chicken and prawns in the rice and yet nothing overpowers your taste buds. Chilly Chicken and Chicken-65 are also quite good. We once tried their Special mutton fry but didn’t find it great. However, we tried their egg biryani once and liked it too!

Madhura

Located on the KPHB 9th phase road, this place was always buzzing with people in the pre-pandemic days. I’ve had their tiffins and liked everything including their chutneys! Idly with their chutney and sambar early in the morning is the best way to start one’s day! Their Pesarattu, Set Dosa, Masala Dosa and Ravva dosa were also quite good. They also do a fried idly dish - you can try it out once.

Goodness Kitchen

I was excited to see Watermelon Feta Salad on their menu. Though good, their Feta is not as good as the awesome Café Eclat! The food at this place is quite good though. Their BBQ grilled chicken with roasted vegetables is really worth trying. Another interesting and tasty item on their menu is the Asian Pulled chicken salad – especially with their dipping sauces.

The Curry Café

Was in a mood to eat some homestyle fish pulusu and ended up with Curry Café. Their fish pulusu with white rice was quite tasty. What I liked is also they have this nice option of choosing how many pieces your want 😊 – helps you with planning! In addition, you should also try their Egg Burji and Omlette – they go very well with the chapati.

Vantillu

I don’t know if they are open now. The first time I tasted their food was at a party of my neighbours house 😊 – was really impressed with their biryani and the gulab jamuns! I remember taking gulab jamuns from my neighbour the next day too! Vantillu was close to home, so we had later ordered Schezwan chicken fried rice and chilly chicken – they turned out to be quite good too. Their biryanis are also quite good. I think the pandemic hit them hard but if they are open, worth trying their menu for sure.

Bakingo

Another good dessert place, especially pastries. Almost all their pastries are quite good – especially coffee and chocolate pastries. Even the regular pineapple and butterscotch pastries are worth trying. No disappointments at all so far.

Flaming Bowl

I got excited seeing “Bandi Chicken Fried Rice” and ordered it off. I didn’t like it because there was a predominant flavour of karvepaku (kadi patha) and also it was little too grainy. Hence didn’t order anything else further from them!

Drunken Monkey

The name and logo are so funny 😊. Their food isn’t though! I have majorly had their fruit juices (Watermelon Chiller, Cucumber chiller, Orange etc) and cold coffee – wasn’t ever disappointed. Their sandwiches are also quite nice - Mexican grilled sandwich, Cheese chicken Jalapeno sandwich, Chicken Tandoor Quesidilla were all awesome to have. No complaints at all! Their menu on drinks is very extensive and it will take a long time to cover what they offer 😊.

Taco Bell

For real light snacks, Taco Bell is the place to go! Their refreshing shredded lettuce in their taco soothes your palette so well, that I can eat Tacos every day! There is no particular choice to make here – you can have any of the veg or non-veg tacos. Am not a fan of beans for example, so I avoid those burritos. Soft Taco Mexican Chicken, Soft/Crunchy Taco Fajita Veg, 7 layer burrito meal (without the beans ofcourse 😉) – these are some very good Tacos and burritos you can have here.

Homely

True to their name, the food is indeed pleasant and homely. 3 rotis with 2 curries of your choice is as simple as it can get. Some of the curries I liked very much are their Special homestyle Hyderabadi chicken, Amristari Dal, Special curry leaf chicken and Pindi Chole. The pickle accompaniment is also quite good 😊.

Kuchipudi Pulav

This restaurant had a fantastic concept but unfortunately their execution was very bad that they had to close this down. Infact, they had about 3 branches in the city at one time. The concept basically is that you can select your choice of rice, meat/vegetable, and spices. After you place your order, they will start cooking this in a pressure cooker – And in about 15 minutes, the cooker is on your table. The flavour used to be fantastic, but where they *always* screwed up your order – either the rice was chosen wrong or the meat was. The spices were never the same that you specifically order. At times, it felt like the meat was stale too. I wasn’t surprised for sure when they closed.

Gravity Hotel

For some reason, very few restaurants have Egg Burji on their menu. I love Egg burji. And Gravity hotel has it on their menu! What combination can be better than a butter nan and egg burji? In addition, their Chicken Joint piece biryani is quite tasty. Tangdi kabab, Chilly Chicken with Chicken Fried rice didn’t disappoint either.

Bhojanam Restaurant

The pandemic caused them to close but what an awesome place this was. I love places where you don’t have to look at the menu, think, have a discussion around the table and then take stress on how you will share all the items we ordered! They simply offer a Biryani Thali – 8 different types of biryani in small bowls in one thali! Can you imagine all the excitement the stomach goes through 😊? If they open back after the pandemic, then I’d definitely recommend this place for some real nice biryanis. The place is small though, so if you are someone who look for good aesthetics, then perhaps you may be disappointed.

Moghul’s Paradiez

Note the spelling of Paradiez 😃. Located near the forum mall in Kukatpally, this place has some nice food. Chicken Thai Fried Rice was a pleasant surprise – it tasted nothing like a Thai fried rice but was quite tasty 😊. It looks like a Hyderabadi version of Thai but I liked it nevertheless! Chilli fish and Chilli chicken were also quite good here. Their Chicken Biryani also had nice flavour in it – overall a good place to order tasty food from!

Raja Rani Ruchulu

Located in Kukatpally, the biryanis at this place are quite good. I think this is one of the few places where I’ve had Paneer Biryani too and liked it 😊. The chicken dum biryani and fish biryani were also quite good here. Definitely a reliable place to eat the biryani!

Mehfil Restaurant

They have multiple branches in the city. Their briyanis are supposed to be good, but for some reason I ended up ordering Chinese from them and was not very happy! We tried Mixed Fried Rice and Apollo Fish and felt they were just ordinary 😊. Perhaps next time, we will try biryanis and have a better experience. I’ve been told that their boneless chicken biryani is quite good and I generous in the amount of chicken that is served too!

Aladdin's Biryani

Tucked away in a small bylane in the KPHB Colony (Phase#9), this is an awesome place to get some real tasty biryani. One of the charms of this place is their packing of the biryani too! The biryani rice has a real good flavour not found in any restaurant in the city (no exaggeration!) That's because they call their biryanis as Guntur Biryanis and the taste very well reflects Guntur! You can try any of their dum biryanis and will not be disappointed. However they are also serve some fry pieces over the biryani rice and those are also quite good. Their Chicken Drumstick fry biryaniChicken Lollipop biryani are worth tasting definitely! Am sure you will also not be disappointed with Aladdin's biryani.

Kodi Kura Chitti Gare

What a awesome name! And true to the name, the kodi kura and chitti gare combination is simply awesome! Infact, their mutton curry is even more tastier with these gare. You can try both their normal chicken and natu kodi pulusu along with the gare. In addition, we once had their chicken gongura biryani and fish tikka also – the fish tikka was quite good, but the biryani was a bit disappointing. But worry not, there are multiple places to get biryani but only one place where you will get kodi kura and chitti gare!

Freshery

If you are lazy to buy fruits and cut them at home, Freshery is the place for you! All their fruit bowls are good value for the money – and if you have no favorites, then blindly chose their mixed fruit seasonal bowl. I love melons, so I always preferred to ordered Watermelon bowl or the musk melon bowl.

Udupi’s upahar

Like I keep saying, anything Udupi and finger on the phone automatically wants to order from there. Their steamed dosa was very good. Vada also is good here with the chutney. Actually their dosas are quite good – plain dosa and set dosa also were ordered by us and we were not disappointed at all!

Saharsh Udupi Grand

Anything Udupi and finger on the phone automatically wants to order from there! Located in Kondapur, their tiffins and chutneys are quite good. I had Set Dosa, Idly, Masala Dosa and Uttapam – all of them tasted quite good with their chutneys! Eating hot poori with the aloo curry in their spacious restaurant is also a good experience!

Ci Gusta

This place in Madhapur is very high quality and very tasty place 😊. Chicken Parmigiana, Chicken Wings and Lemon Chilly Fish stand out too good here. Their Spicy Grilled chicken sandwich is also very good. However, the best part of this place is their ice creams and other desserts! I think now their desserts are made by Desserts & Co. – nevertheless awesome. Tiramisu, Coffee Sludge, Chocolate Tart were tried and all tasted awesome! You can also pick any ice cream of your choice and will not be disappointed by the quality and taste of it. A must visit place.

Cake Zone

Over the past two years, this has been one of the best bakery that we have ordered from! We actually have ordered a lot of cakes from this place for some kids in a school nearby – and their cakes have simply been fantastic. The Chocolate Truffle cake is their best so far. Infact, I would say it is the best so far in the city too! Their innovative Rasmalai cake is another fantastic cake. Fresh fruit cake, Mango Gateaux cake, Black Forest Cake, Pineapple Vanilla cake, Chocolate overload cake have all been fantastic and the kids also simply loved them. I have not yet gathered the courage to order Gulab Jamun cake (from anywhere! 😊). Needless to say, their pastries of these varieties are also good.

Flaming Wok

One of those few places that gives the right amount of food for one person to eat 😃. For example, Mini Egg fried rice + Schezwan chicken combo is not only tasty but is the exact quantity enough to satisfy my appetite! They  have many such combos that you can choose from – not a single one of them disappoints! Their noodles and fried rice are quite tasty and their Drums of Heaven is one starter that you shouldn’t miss ordering!

Order Chesi Chudu

The name was attractive so ordered Chicken fried rice, Chicken Schezwan and Chilly garlic chicken. Was pleasantly surprised by their taste – it tasted like street food quality, the kinds you get on Chinese bandis 😊. However, they’ve stopped delivering for a while, so never had a chance to reorder from them. Will definitely reorder from them if they open up!

Millet Kitchen

I have mixed feelings about this place! Their Gunta Ponganalu weren’t very good; their Idlis weren’t smooth enough. But their masala dosa and upma dosa were very (very) tasty and awesome! Also, their chutney was also quite good. So I think we should continue experimenting from this place with more items 😊.

Ovenstory Pizza

Ordered a couple of time from there and liked their pizzas. Their exotic sounding Spanish Sunshines pizza was real good. We had also once ordered their Veg Overload pizza and it was real veg feast on the pizza. These are thin crust pizzas and their cheese also tasted good.

Sandwich Eatery

On a given evening when you are in the mood to eat some light awesome snacks, look no further! These people make one of the best sandwiches in town. We’ve tried Simple Veggies grilled; Jalapeno Chicken; Hot Garlic Chicken; Sprouts Grilled (!); Corn Cheese and Egg Mayo! We were never disappointed with any of their sandwiches. In addition to this, they make awesome pasta too! We had their Broccoli Pasta and White pasta – they came in piping hot and were perfect for the cold evening that day!

Chickpet Donne Biryani House

What a concept, what a taste! We also had their chicken lollipop and pepper chicken from the starters list – they also tasted good. There are multiple branches of this place across the entire city of Hyderabad, so wherever you are, you can happily order and eat!

Zomoz – The Momo Company

Luckily so far, I ‘ve never encountered a bad momos place! The Chicken & Cheese steamed momos were real good. Ofcourse what can be a better combination than a steamed momo with Cheese in it? 😃. We also tried the Veg Chesse Mushroom Momos and they also tasted quite light and tasty too! Never been to this place but ordered only on Swiggy.

Idly Dosa for you

Sounds like a romantic place, eh? 😝. There are two awesome things about this place – one is their chutney. And the other is their Mysore Masala Dosa! I’ve had the other varieties of dosas too, but found the Mysore Masala Dosa to be the best. Idly ofcourse is a staple order 😊. Never been to this place but ordered only on Swiggy.

Idlee Tree

Now don’t imagine a pile of idlis being served to you, ok! Their chutney is very (very) tasty. Idly ofcourse is the staple order from here, but both the Rava Dosa and Masala Dosa are also quite good. The Upma Pesarattu was not as tasty though :). Never been to this place but ordered only on Swiggy.

Kinnera Tiffins

Located on the KPHB 9th phase road, Kinnera Tiffins was the first tiffins place that came up opposite our new apartments about 3 years back! Before we get into their tiffins, we have to (have to) talk about their chutneys! Having lived in Somajiguda for decades, I had totally forgotten about some chutneys (tomato, ginger, Bombay chutney etc!). Kinnera tiffins came as a whiff of fresh air because they offer 4 different type of unlimited chutneys, alu curry and sambar! It’s self service so you can simply have as much as you like 😊.

Coming to their tiffins, their Upma Dosa is their best! The staple Idly and Dosa also tastes good but I think that is because of the wide variety of chutneys available. If you don’t try their Onion Bondas in the morning and the most awesome punugulu in the evening, then there is no point of you visiting Kinner Tiffins in the first place! And don't forget to end your trip with their coffee!

Paratha Experiment

True to their name, they have many experimental parathas! I had their Cheese Jalapeno Paratha and liked it a lottttt. Maybe also because it has some of my favorite elements – cheese, Jalapeno and Wheat! Whatever it is, it was very nice 😊. When I was ordering for the first time, I also ordered a Gobi Paratha as a backup incase the experiment fails. It turned out that their Gobi Paratha was not very good as compared the Cheese Jalapeno. Lesson learnt – try more experiments than the regular ones 😊. By the way, you should also try their Walnut Brownie. You can thank my wife later!

China Bistro

They have two branches. One that looks very royal in Jubilee Hills and one that is in Gachibowli. The buffet at both the places though has really good varieties in both the veg and non-veg sections. I have no favorites because everything we ate there has been good so far (and I ate everything on their buffet!). Their fish and prawns especially are cooked quite well. Even their vegetable dishes have a good variety (not just carrot and beans!) – broccoli, zucchini, mushroom, baby corn, green vegetables etc! If you are looking for nice Chinese food, then China Bistro is the place to go to.

Firewater Restaurant

What surprises you is the variety on their menu – and I would strongly recommend you to try their Continental section because the Chinese and Indian sections you can get anywhere 😊. You’d be surprised by how good some of their continental menu items taste. Grilled Fish with Cilantro Sauce, Sizzler Chicken with pink pepper sauce, Jalapeno Poppers, Crumb Fried Mushrooms – these are items that are quite unique to Firewater. Their Chinese and Indian are good too – I remember the Mutton Rogan Josh, the Chicken-65, the Chicken biryani the most! I’d definitely recommend this place for the variety that they offer and most importantly for the awesome taste 😊.

Jain Kitchen Pure Vegetarian Restaurant.

Sometimes veg restaurants surprise you 😊 by the sheer nature of their taste. This restaurant offers two options for most items – normal Veg and Jain Veg. Their Chinese platter of 6 items came with 6 different flavours too – there was a veg bullet that was cooked on an icecream stick 😉, the spring rolls, the paneer chilly definitely stood out. Their noodles was also very tasty – infact their noodles had a nice street food taste and feel to them! The standard Manchurian was good too. Indian food hasn’t been attempted by us yet here – perhaps the next update will have it!

Istah- Shawarmah and Biryani

Yet to eat their biryani here, even though the pictures look very appetizing enough! But their shawarmah has been eaten many many times! I think it is their mayonise sauce that gives that taste. And also the fact that you have the option of choosing from wheat, khubus or rumali options for the wraps! Both their chicken and paneer shawarmas are very awesome – especially the ones with the wheat wrap. I am also yet to try their hummus with Pita bread but am sure even that will be equally awesome!

Sri Raghavendra Pure Veg

A lot of tiffins have been ordered from this place! And not a single time were we disappointed with any of the orders. The paper dosa (known as 70mm dosa at many places) is also quite light to the stomach (atleast to mine 😃). But I’d recommend their idly and rava dosa if you have to choose 2 items only. All tiffins are accompanied by some tasty chutneys and hot sambar that are unique to this place.

Bikanerwala

There are two different experiences with Bikanerwala. One where we order and eat at the restaurant in Kondapur. The chat items we get there are very tasty (Aloo tikki; Bhel puri; Dahi puri). His paneer starter (I think it was a sizzler we ate!) is also quite good to have there. The Chinese main course was alright, nothing to remember by. And then you order the Chinese stuff to home and we were all pleasantly surprised by how good those items were made! I don’t know if it’s a one-off incident or not, but when we ordered Hakka noodles and fried rice, we definitely didn’t expect them to taste so nice! Their Chole Batura was also simply too good when we ordered it to home. You definitely wouldn’t be disappointed with Bikanerwala if you are looking for some good light meals. And ofcourse I don’t have to write about their sweets – I’ve never been disappointed with any sweet that I bought there!

Agra Sweets

Ah, their Dahi Puri. Just their Dahi Puri! This is my favorite place for Dahi Puri, no one else comes remotely close to what Agra Sweets make! Their masala pav bhaji, aloo tikki and bhel puri are also very good. A surprise dish is their pizza – it’s really awesome, especially because it is loaded both with cheese and vegetables equally 😊. Agra Sweets has often been a recurring destination to have chat and pizza for lunch!

KS Bakers

This is also one of the oldies of Hyderabad! So we get the burgers and pizzas done the old way 😊. Just their chicken burger retains the taste they have had since many years. The Chicken Tikka burger is not as good though, so if you have to make a choice then let it be the regular chicken burger. Any pizza you order there is bound to be good too. My favorite though is the Chicken Mexican pizza – has the right amount of spice and zing to it!
