The Little Tibet is on a road that is named “Jai Hind Road” 😊 – some incidences write themselves! We were driving on this road. We were hungry. And I see this small place that was giving a very inviting vibe to come and eat! The place is simple. The menu is also simple. And it is the simple things that taste good. Their steamed and fried dimsums – both were very very tasty. The Chilly Garlic Fried rice with Chilly chicken was also very tasty – the place gives you the feel of having tasty street food quality in a decent setting. It was a nice find 😊.
In Hyderabad, Eat here!
Yi Jing (in ITC Kohenur)
I can never forget one dish here – Steamed Egg Custard with Scallops. The seared scallops, the consume along with the egg custard – was a totally new experience for me and a totally satisfying one. I would go back here just for this one dish. This is not to say their other dishes were not good 😊 – the carrot wasabi dumpling, the noodles with stir fried vegetables, the lotus stem etc were all very good too. The restaurant is often full and it will help to make a reservation and go here.
7 sisters
To do some poetic justice, 7 of us boys went to this place – you know, 7 brothers visiting 7 sisters 😝. Though this place also claims to have food from the NE states, the cuisine is majorly from various countries like Tibet, Nepal, Indonesia, Thailand and China! Tucked in a nice ambience in the HITEX road, I’d very strongly recommend this place for some awesome comfort food. To begin with, their dumplings, especially the fried ones are awesome. Both the veg and chicken dumplings were really really good. The Chilli Basil Fish, Prawns Tempura, Wok tossed Wild mushrooms, Chilly baby corn were yet another treat to the taste buds! The Tibetean Thupka bowl was devoured by everyone as if it was some competition! We also had Indonesian Fried Rice and the Pad Thai – the reaction to these both was mixed but I liked both these dishes too. Am for sure going back to this place to try many other dishes on their menu – we couldn’t get to the Korean and Singaporean ones in this visit.
Tashi
Tucked away in a small bylane near the Peddamma Temple in Jubilee Hills, Tashi has been an excellent find for us! It is a veg only restaurant and offers almost everything that is on the menu in Jain options too. The variety on the menu is very impressive and requires multiple visits to try out these awesome options! We had the Taco Salad, which was fresh and very tasty! Their dim sums are certainly something worthy returning to eat! The Red Thai Curry along with rice is one of the best you will find in the city, taste wise (though I would have preferred it to be a little more runny!). The Hakka noodles and Tibetan Thupka are also very good here – especially the Thupka!
Jai Bhavani Food Court
On the now busy main road of KPHB Phase 13, this is an all purpose food court offering some very good street food! They open at 7 in the morning and are buzzing till probably 11 in the night! The day begins with a variety of breakfasts and a variety of chutneys (Actually, I’ve seen this only in Kukatpally area where they serve multiple chutneys including Bombay chutney). They also have curries and rice for lunch and dinner. Their Veg curries (especially Bhindi and Brinjal), Chicken Fry, Egg Burji, Egg masala, and chicken curry are all good. Their Leg piece fry isn’t that great though – most times the piece is not cooked through. And then there is also a Chinese Bandi in the same arena – thus completing the troika of Tiffins, Curries and Chinese! Fried Rice and Chilly Chicken is quite tasty here. I’ve seldom been disappointed while getting food from this place!
Far East Asia
There are very few restaurants who make the awesome Tibetean Thupka. And Far East Asia is one of them! Their Thupka Noodles bowl is a festival for the digestive system! The momochas are one of the best light starters one can imagine of having before a hearty meal. Their coconut milk flavoured Khow suey Noodles bowl is also really awesome. Their Thai curries (both green and red), with the rice bowls are worth trying multiple times too!
Bhajjis
It’s really unfortunate how the pandemic had hit this place hard. Otherwise, this place would have really shined well. One of my biggest disappointments at many places which serve bhajjis is that they are mostly served cold or warm. Bhajjis restaurant makes the bhajjis after you order them, and therefore you get the best ever experience of having piping hot spicy bhajjis with all the relevant chutneys! Bhajjis is also a multi-cuisine restaurant and almost everything here that we ate so far tastes quite good. Their Schezwuan chicken fried rice with with chilly chicken is a great combination. Chicken 65 with egg noodles is also awesome. Chicken Dum biryani is definitely worth trying out here.
Srinidhi Restaurant
It was one of those when the stomach craved for all kinds of food – the place didn’t matter! And so when Srinidhi Restaurant showed up on Swiggy, I just went about ordering a combination of things – and ended up liking the food very much! Their Manchow soup was the right thing I needed that day! Butter Naan with Egg Burji satisfied the egg cravings of the day. And the Gongura Paneer biryani satisfied the spice cravings for the day!
Raju gari Vindu
Was interested in this place after seeing some good egg options. Their Egg fried pulao was indeed very tasty. In addition to this, the Egg Schezwan fried rice with their Gobi Manchurian was also really good. True to their name, it felt like a king’s meal 😊
Panda Pavillion
Yet to explore this place fully but just the one time we ordered Egg Singapore Fried Rice and Gobi Manchurian didn’t disappoint.
Squeeze @ The Lime
Tucked away in a bylane of Gachibowli, this veg only restaurant is part of the hotel named The Lime (and named Squeeze! Get it? 😊). We were never disappointed in the multiple visits to this place. Tomato Soup with Basil oil is very refreshing. Sarson wala Broccoli was good. Tandoori Tikka Sizzler and Flaming Sichuan Dumpling sizzlers are very tasty. Veg Manchuria with piping hot noodles is yet another good combination here. We had once ordered Pizza from here and that was also quite good! How can you go to Squeeze @ The Lime and not have anything lemony? Therefore, you must have their refreshing Lemonade Lime!
Prost Brew Pub
This will perhaps be the first review of a pub where drinks won’t be discussed! The food here is really really good. They offer a really large variety of cuisines and nothing has disappointed us so far! Chico Nachos are gooood, sauteed mushrooms (dish is called Prost Pilze) are nice, the chicken wings are awesome but the best starter I think is their Chicken 65! You should also try the Spicy Calamari, fish fingers and onion rings! The chicken popcorn and jalapeno cheese balls are also also good to be munching all along. One of the best things here is their Mini Burger Platter – we can happily taste of different burgers in small sizes instead of worrying about choosing which burger to eat! The Thai Curry, Chicken Biryani, any Pizza and Nasi Goreng are great main course dishes to have here.
The Bowl Company
I like their concept – right quantity of meat/veggies along with flavoured rices! Their Caribbean Grilled Chicken with herbed rice is light on the stomach and very tasty too. So is the Peri Peri Chicken with Egg corn rice. Spicy Thai Basil chicken with garlic fried rice is also very refreshing, with the Basil especially!
Tatva
This is a veg only restaurant in Jubilee Hills, but it is a good veg-only restaurant too 😊. Malai Broccoli, Hara Bhara Kebab and Smoked Pesto Panneer Tikka are very good options to have here. The Veg Spring Rolls and Jalapeno Poppers are good too. The Wild Mushroom Risotto tastes good. The Veg Steak sizzler and Jain sizzler both taste quite good too. Methi Chaman with naan/kulcha also tasted quite good here.
TILT Bar Republic
Yet another bar with only food reviews 😝. My best food memory from here is their Chicken 65 and Spicy Fried Idly! Because we went in large groups, each time, we were were able to order enough plates to satisfy our apetitites! The Cheese Broccoli, Onion Rings, Pahadi Kabab, Fish & chips, Chicken wings are also very tasty here. I don’t recollect eating much of a main course here, because we were busy finishing just the starters!
A’la Liberty
A veg only place opposite to Hitech city, they actually have a decent buffet to tickle your taste buds! I liked their noodles the best 😊. Their mushroom and paneer starters (that vary depending on the day) are quite tasty. They also used to serve different type of cutlets that are good too. The wet Veg Manchurian goes very well with their noodles.
Farzi Cafe
The best thing about this place is their creativity. We would have heard or eaten pretty much everything on their menu but how they present those same dishes here is very unique! The food is a little heavy on the tummy though. Tempura Fried Prawns were very nice, Keema kulcha with mint jalapeno was nice, The Goan Fish curry with coconut rice was also quite good here. Beetroot and cream cheese tikki was good too (despite my dislike towards beetroot!) and the farzified Vada Pav also should be had here 😊.
Blue Fox
One of the oldies of Hyderabad! Their Chinese items are good – chicken fried rice, schezqan chicken fried rice, chicken 65, chilly chicken, chicken drumsticks, hakka noodles – all have retained their taste since many many years! In Indian, their Tangdi kababs are good starters and their special chicken biryani (boneless basically) is also a favorite of mine 😊.
Maa Santosh Dhaba
Quick, tasty food! Their Tomato soup is good. Veg Manchuria is goooood. Chilly Paneer is also good. But what I like best in this place is their noodles! Eating those noodles gives you a nice dhaba feeling for sure 😊. Naan with Paneer Butter Masala is also a good combination to have here.
Beijing Bistro
The name Lung Fung soup sounds odd, but the taste of this soup is quite awesome in Beijing Bistro! This place actually has some very good Thai and Chinese food. In addition to Lung Fung, Lemon Coriander Soup is quite good. Tom Yum Soup and the Chef’s special soup is also very tasty. Kung Pao Chicken, Veg Spring Roll and Drums of Heaven are good starters to have. Thai Basil Fried rice and Pad Thai noodles are also good for the main course.
