Prowl foods by Tiger Shroff

Nice play with the words prowl and tiger, na? :D Curious as to what they offer, I ordered Grilled Vegetable Salad and Bbq Chicken Wrap. The wrap tasted really good. The salad was a little spicy (from the pepper) but it was good too.

Turqoise at Le Meridien

Very few people may get this, but our group works on something called XO in our day-to-day work at office. Imagine our delight when we saw a dish called Fish in XO sauce at Le Meridien’s widespread buffet 😊. The dessert offerings, especially the different Gatuex were quite good at this place. While the European main course was good, it was the chat items in the Indian cuisine that stood out.

Renao Café & Bistro

 This place is right next to Palamuru Grill and despite seeing that on every visit to Palamuru Grill, it took many years to visit this place! Should have visited this place much earlier. Both the food and the ambience of this place are very good. We were a group of 4 and we ended up playing Scrabble while enjoying their various food offerings. They have a pizza called Seven Heaven – seven different types of cheese on the pizza. For a cheese lover like me, this is truly heaven indeed! The pizza tasted awesome as expected because all cheeses used were authentic. The Som Tom Salad is not a dish that many places prepare in Hyderabad. This salad was a good dish here. The Laksa soup was also nice with both the coconut flavour and spices tickling your taste buds! Both the Gyoza and steamed dimsums, veg and non-veg, were very nice. The Water chestnuts in Hunan sauce could have tasted better though. And not to forget, their French Fries tasted quite good too! Overall, it was a great experience eating and playing at Renao!

Hashtag Cafe

The best part of the visit was that we were able to play the tumbling tower game – Jenga blocks – while we were waiting for our order 😊. The Mexican Hot wings were hot but weren’t Mexican. They tasted more like Chinese schezuan but the taste was definitely good so no complaints! We had Kung Pao Chicken Fried Rice. The taste was indeed good, but as I continued to eat I was eventually able to figure out that the salt was a little high! It’s a minor quibble because the quantity and taste were both apt. Their wall has a lot of “Marim Bula” bottles. I thought this was some sort of a liquor brand, only to figure out later that these are all just flavoured syrups! The embarrassment was real 😉 – but what else can you expect from someone who doesn’t drink!

The Bowl Company

 I like their concept – right quantity of meat/veggies along with flavoured rices! Their Caribbean Grilled Chicken with herbed rice is light on the stomach and very tasty too. So is the Peri Peri Chicken with Egg corn rice. Spicy Thai Basil chicken with garlic fried rice is also very refreshing, with the Basil especially!

TILT Bar Republic

 Yet another bar with only food reviews 😝. My best food memory from here is their Chicken 65 and Spicy Fried Idly! Because we went in large groups, each time, we were were able to order enough plates to satisfy our apetitites! The Cheese Broccoli, Onion Rings, Pahadi Kabab, Fish & chips, Chicken wings are also very tasty here. I don’t recollect eating much of a main course here, because we were busy finishing just the starters!

Farzi Cafe

The best thing about this place is their creativity. We would have heard or eaten pretty much everything on their menu but how they present those same dishes here is very unique! The food is a little heavy on the tummy though. Tempura Fried Prawns were very nice, Keema kulcha with mint jalapeno was nice, The Goan Fish curry with coconut rice was also quite good here. Beetroot and cream cheese tikki was good too (despite my dislike towards beetroot!) and the farzified Vada Pav also should be had here 😊.

Firewater Restaurant

 What surprises you is the variety on their menu – and I would strongly recommend you to try their Continental section because the Chinese and Indian sections you can get anywhere 😊. You’d be surprised by how good some of their continental menu items taste. Grilled Fish with Cilantro Sauce, Sizzler Chicken with pink pepper sauce, Jalapeno Poppers, Crumb Fried Mushrooms – these are items that are quite unique to Firewater. Their Chinese and Indian are good too – I remember the Mutton Rogan Josh, the Chicken-65, the Chicken biryani the most! I’d definitely recommend this place for the variety that they offer and most importantly for the awesome taste 😊.

Ten J

Went here once for team lunch, because we got bored of going to places near to office! We were a larget group, and the pace of service of the starters was quite impressive. The starters menu (of the buffet) is similar to what we have at many places and nothing stood out except for Chicken-65! The spread of main course was also vast, and the mutton curry tasted good. Their Egg salad was also quite good, and it got over fast too! Overall, it was not some outstanding experience but was a good experience though!

Flecazho

On a mini conveyor belt, they have this constant supply of small plates of food that are called “food shots”! I must say, these shots aer very tasty – both the veg and non-veg ones. Prawns with sticky rice, veggies wrapped in cucumber, watermelon with cream, pani puri (ofcourse!) – all these items are quite tasty and easy to eat too!

Another innovative thing here is that they let you make your own pizza 😊. You can wear the chef’s uniform and roll out your own pizza. And in the process you can also understand why it is difficult making the pizza 😉 ! Their starters and main course have a variety of offerings, and do taste good. I’d recommend their Kulcha bread with lamb chops though – they are different from what traditionally is offered! To end, they use liquid nitrogen to prepare a Pan ice-cream. But I am not a big fan of pan ice cream 😊.

Jonathan's Kitchen

The first time we went here, we had a mixed experience. We were a large group and we had the buffet. The starters were not hot enough, and we had to repeatedly ask the folks to heat them up and serve it. They tasted quite good once we got the heated dishes. The main course and salad offerings were well spread and tasty too. The Mediterranean salads, the mutton curries, the vegetable lasagna etc tasted quite good too. We ordered Tiramisu cake at the end, and I must say that it is one of the best I ever had in Hyderabad! The second time also was a large group, for lunch buffet! The restaurant was full, and they were having trouble getting new plates/spoons at their counters. The food experience was quite good though – this time we even had pizzas and we walked out a content lot!

The Buffet - GVK Mall

Visited this place only one time, after a movie that ended at 9:30pm! Was actually going up to eat at Khaan Saab, only to come to know that they have closed! The Buffet was suggested instead, and the place was quite big. Their buffet menu is also quite exhaustive but nothing that stood out – there was more of the stape varieties that we get in the buffets these days! Nevertheless, one will not be disappointed if you go here to have lunch.

Sheraton

Thanks to some office meetings, I have been here quite a few times for all the three meals of the day! I love their breakfast and lunch buffet options! Both their Indian and Western dishes taste quite good. Their parathas and dosas in the breakfast are quite good. The fresh fruit juices induce some freshness into your day too! They have a good spread of breads and cheese too (And these are not the regular mozzarella stuff we get outside!)

Their lunch options are equally good too. I generally become a fan of buffet the moment I see something like Baba Ganoush and Hummus! Added to this, some nice fish items that satisfy the palette are like an icing on the cake! Speaking of cake, oh boy, their dessert options are also awesome! You must keep some place aside to check out the multitude of options!

AB's - Absolute Barbeques

Similar on the lines of Barbeque Nation. But these guys have a live counter that serves noodles with a variety of meat – Emu, Quail, Duck, Shark etc. I tried the Shark and didn’t like it much. The Duck and the Quail were good, but since this is served by mixing a variety of spices, sometimes it is difficult to get the taste of their meat. Their normal menu is quite good though – but like I said, it’s like Barbeque Nation – so it will suffice if you read about Barbeque Nation J. 

Ohri's Golf Course - Boulder Hills

It was by chance that we visited this place. Since we were a large group, we ended up ordering a lot of stuff – including a burger! They had a picture of the Chicken burger in their menu card – it looked so yummm that we ordered it. Unfortunately, the burger that came to us didn’t look anywhere close to that picture. The taste was good but…. L. We had other items like the Chicken drumsticks, Apollo fish, Biryanis – which were all good too. The best part about this place is the place itself! Since it is located on a golf course, the ambiance is quite serene and enjoyable. Coupled with good food, this is one of the best examples of fine dining. 

Cinnamon Fusion

I always wonder why this place is never full – given the nice quality of food they serve. Perhaps the costing? Or perhaps the choice of cuisine?

Cinnamon Fusion has a limited buffet option and an ala carte menu, that does not include many options of typical Hyderabadi food. Their grilled fish items in the main course are very nice. We’ve also had pizzas, salads as part of their buffet and liked them too. It’s been a while but their chicken starters were also quite good… though I vaguely recall their mutton was not quite nice the day we went. Overall, a nice place for fine dining, and fine food too J.

The Trident

Best Buffet after Westin (in the star hotels category)! Trident has a wide variety of choice – ranging from middle eastern to Thailand! Very few places serve the Thai Red Curry – on one of the days we went, they had Thai Fish Red Curry J. Most days, they also serve dosas – so an egg dosa with chettinad mutton will simply make you forget all problems of the world J. Since this is 5 star, the cost is on the very high side, but it’s worth to go once in a while – just to try out various cuisines. 

Avasa

This is one of the few star hotels that have a nice buffet for the price they charge. They have a live counter for starters – two chicken, one fish and one prawn starter. All of them were mouth watering tasty! We must have had atleast 3 servings of all the starters! Their main course spread is also quite vast – multiple chicken, mutton and fish curries! 

Served along with an assortment of breads and naan’s – this place is truly a culinary delight if you go with a hungry stomach! They have some cold starters/salads too – which are quite tasty. Desert spread is also vast, but we were so full with the main course, that we postponed desert for the next visit! This place is surely recommended for team lunches, or lunch when you are very hungry! 

Radisson Blu

They had a huge hoarding about a large number of items in their Sunday brunch – and so I got tempted! Unfortunately, couldn’t go there on a Sunday but ended up going on a weekday. Frankly, the buffet was not upto the mark (I heard the Sunday one is really good though!). 

Cocktail dressing with salad was good. Cocktail prawns were good. Pickles with bread were good. Fish starter was ok, but tasted like normally what we get outside. Pasta was also bland. Grilled chicken was simple; and the main course was not innovative (normal biryanis and curries). Also, Radisson Blu is quite on the inside… there is no simple road/route to get there. This might be a big drawback factor to attract people!

Quality Inn

Well, nothing much to remember here from the main course of the buffet. Their desserts were quite good though! Fruit triffle, Caramel Custard, Tiramisu, Mango Cheese cake and some more items were all very tasty. If I am going back here, it's only for their desserts :)
