Gappe-Vappe at Almond House

Oh my my! What an amazingly amazing place this is. I never tire myself from recommending this place to almost everyone who wants to eat great chat! Both the taste and the presentation are a delight. The Pani Puri with three different flavours of pani – mango, pomogrenate and pudina are superb. The Dahi Puri served on a cart will cool down all the heat from the Pav Bhaji Fondue! The Dahi papdi or the Dahi Samosa chat are also very good. Three beans chat is tangy and sweet and awesome!  Oh, I can go on and on! You just go and eat there!

Hocco Eatery

Right on the Madhapur main road, Hocco eatery is a little surprise 😊. This is a veg only place which also has nice ice cream options! Their Pav Bhaji and Chole Batura are really tasty. This place will be visited more to explore the other options they have available.

Manchi Baphe

True to their name (which translates to Good Buffet), this restaurant has really wide variety of items in their buffet that so totally justifies their pricing. While the options in their starters and main course are very impressive (especially the non-veg ones 😊), I want to highlight the really great offerings of the desserts in their buffet. The buffet options in desserts are really exhaustive and include some great items such as Tres Leches too 😊.  They also have multiple live counters – chat, dosa, pasta, pan, sugarcane juice etc! I’d strongly recommend that you try the dosa with any of the non-veg curries. In addition to all these multiple offerings, the ambience of this place is also quite good. For sure, we will keep going back to this place!

Bikanerwala

There are two different experiences with Bikanerwala. One where we order and eat at the restaurant in Kondapur. The chat items we get there are very tasty (Aloo tikki; Bhel puri; Dahi puri). His paneer starter (I think it was a sizzler we ate!) is also quite good to have there. The Chinese main course was alright, nothing to remember by. And then you order the Chinese stuff to home and we were all pleasantly surprised by how good those items were made! I don’t know if it’s a one-off incident or not, but when we ordered Hakka noodles and fried rice, we definitely didn’t expect them to taste so nice! Their Chole Batura was also simply too good when we ordered it to home. You definitely wouldn’t be disappointed with Bikanerwala if you are looking for some good light meals. And ofcourse I don’t have to write about their sweets – I’ve never been disappointed with any sweet that I bought there!

Agra Sweets

Ah, their Dahi Puri. Just their Dahi Puri! This is my favorite place for Dahi Puri, no one else comes remotely close to what Agra Sweets make! Their masala pav bhaji, aloo tikki and bhel puri are also very good. A surprise dish is their pizza – it’s really awesome, especially because it is loaded both with cheese and vegetables equally 😊. Agra Sweets has often been a recurring destination to have chat and pizza for lunch!

Almond House

The newly renovated Almond House is a treat for sweet lovers! I don't recollect being disappointed with any sweet that we ordered from here. In addition to their really wide variety of sweets, they now also have an awesome chat counter. Simple Pani Puri is actually served with 6 different type of pani also! I liked the mango and pomegranate flavoured waters the best. Dahi puri and Bhel puri are also quite tasty.

The Grand Trunk Road

While trying to go to another place, we had to take a detour. The traffic was horrible and we chanced upon this place. It looked good from the outside, so we figured we will stop here and eat! Turns out, the decision was quite good 😊. The ambience of this place has been designed to give a dhaba feel. They come close to it. The best part of this place is their chat section. The live counters dish out extremely tasty chat options – pani puri, dahi puri, cutlet, pav bhaji etc! Infact the pani in the pani puri is just awesome!

Their buffet spread is also equally good but is the standard fare that you get anywhere. I have been to this place a couple of times and each time liked their chat section more! This place is also good for large team lunches too – is quite spacious and on a warm day, we will like the atmosphere too!

Mayur Pan Shop

This is more about what we get outside the Pan shop than what we get in it :). This Pan shop is located at a stone's throw distance from Papaji ka Dhaba, and also houses Chat/Snacks corner, and this is what blows you off. The Masala Pav Bhaaji is simply out of this world. Soft, cut into pieces, and served with apt masals on it, it will only leave you yearning for more. We can still feel the taste, and the yearning only increases! Pani Puri is also good.

And then there is the Grilled Sandwich. Three bread pieces on top of each, cut into 4 pieces, with the right mixture of vegetables, pudina chutney and cheese.... ahaaaaa... :) :)

And ofcourse, eat the special pan inside the Pan shop and your day is done! We haven't tried other stuff there, but surely we will go again to try. Also, this corner also has a juices stall.
Location: Abids (very near to Papaji Dhaba)

Maharaja Chat Bandar

Am borrowing a review written by another friend, because this is the only way we can review that place!

If you are a fellow die-hard roadside chat-aholic, then look no further for heaven, for Maharaja Chat Bhandar, located near Madhapur Police Station holds the key! They have now opened up opposite to Raheja IT park too. What started off as an actual bandi, with three and half people managing it, now has multiple branches in the city!

Try a first course of Alu Tikki, then savour your Pav Bhaji laden with butter, and finish off in style with a round of Dahi Puri. While you wait for the Pav Bhaji to be made, you can easily have a taste of their Bhel Puri too!

Gokul Chat

Actually the must eat item I'd recommend here is not any chat item, but the Rs.5 ka Softy Ice Cream!!! Do NOT leave the place without eating it! This is one of the places that still give us this ice cream :D!

And now coming to the chat items, whatever this place serves is special! Hence its stature as the best place to have chat. My personal favorites are the Bhel Puri, Sev Puri, Bhajji, and Pani Puri. This place is always very crowded, and this was one of the main reasons this place was attacked by terrorists. Students never miss to eat here, because this is located right in the middle of multiple book stores. And once you eat here, you will want to come back again and again for sure!

Location: Koti
