100N

There are many dishes at this place that are repeat worthy! Both their grilled chicken sandwich and veg club sandwich are very tasty and repeat worthy. The Russian salad, Ceasar Salad, Coleslaw sandwich, fruit bowls – pretty much everything that I’ve ordered from here has not been a disappointment!

True Black Coffee

Returning from a wedding one night at Kompally and desperate to have coffee, we found this small place called True Black Coffee! One of their most striking aspects is their cup 😊 – it doesn’t have a handle and the experience of holding it with both hands and slowly sipping the piping hot Pour Over is a good one! They have coffee from different estates in India – we had the Ratnagiri one which they said may feel like pineapple! For one of us, they were able to feel the pineapple flavour – the others felt berry. All of us liked the coffee a lot though. They have another variety called Unnaki Agni, which is also quite good to have on a rainy evening! The Cappuccino itself is also very pleasing to the soul! If you are a fan of avocado, then their Avacado toast is a must have along with all these piping hot coffee options.

Harley’s Fine Baking

Fine baking indeed! Their different Medovik cakes are really a treat to the taste buds. In addition, their tiramisu and chocolate cakes are awesome too. I think all of them are eggless too. And since it is fine baking, they are all costly too but it’s ok to indulge in fine baking some times 😊. The hot cappuccino and cold coffee they make are also very pleasing to the stomach!

Third Wave Coffee

Oh what an accidental find this was! The options they have in their coffee beans, I think is the largest in the city. They’ve showed us nearly 7-8 varieies of coffee beans from which we could choose the flavour we want for the Pour Over. I chose the medium-dark roast option and simply fell in love with the coffee and the place. Their Scallion Cream Cheese Bagel is also good breakfast option, especially it goes so well with the chips they serve along with it. Double Shot Cappucino is also a very good option to sip while you are driving in the Hyderabad traffic!

Winnis Cake and Café

Located on the 13th Phase road of KPHB, Winnis cakes are surely a winner 😊. Their strawberry cake and the chocolate cake were really fresh and very tasty. The students of the school where these cakes were cut were also very happy with the taste! This is a veg only place. For sure, more orders will go to this place regularly.

Red Bean Café

In recent times, multiple bakeries have opened up on the KPHB 9th Phase road. Red Bean Café is one such café, but what caught my eye was the various Medovik pastries they offer. These pastries are honey based and I had a Russian Medovik for the first time in Concu. Red Bean Café serves different varieties of these medovik cakes and they don’t disappoint you much. Their sandwiches are also quite tasty but their offering is their cappuccino! I think they also do double shot by default, like how Smoky Box Organic does!

Ohri’s Cake Nation

I occasionally order cakes from here while visiting schools and have always found their cakes to be fresh and tasty! Especially their Chocolate Truffle Cake and Black Forest Cake are very good and I’ve repeated these specific orders atleast 2-3 times. The children at the school have also given overwhelming feedback

Old Madras Baking Company

One of the rarest places where I ended up not liking anything . With all the hype around this place and the unusual number of recommendations it received, I really had high high hopes. The Madras Filter Coffee was such a major disappointment. Major. The coffee wasn’t strong and definitely tasted more like instant than filter. The three cheese sandwich was so bland, so bland, that am not finding the right words to compare too. The billing was a bit chaotic too. It was then that I read some more reviews and figured out that a new management was in place recently and things were not the same after that. Some old timers were really upset too – and then everything fell in place for my experience!

The Baker’s Dozen

I got very excited with the name and also the menu on the offering. I went ahead and ordered the Chilli Cheese Sourdough bread and the Banana Walnut Cake. The bread was good but then I am so used to eating this at Café Eclat that I realized I cannot like sourdough bread from anywhere else! The Banana Walnut Cake was very good though – they claim it is 100% wheat and nothing to suspect otherwise from the taste.

Bakingo

Another good dessert place, especially pastries. Almost all their pastries are quite good – especially coffee and chocolate pastries. Even the regular pineapple and butterscotch pastries are worth trying. No disappointments at all so far.

Cake Zone

Over the past two years, this has been one of the best bakery that we have ordered from! We actually have ordered a lot of cakes from this place for some kids in a school nearby – and their cakes have simply been fantastic. The Chocolate Truffle cake is their best so far. Infact, I would say it is the best so far in the city too! Their innovative Rasmalai cake is another fantastic cake. Fresh fruit cake, Mango Gateaux cake, Black Forest Cake, Pineapple Vanilla cake, Chocolate overload cake have all been fantastic and the kids also simply loved them. I have not yet gathered the courage to order Gulab Jamun cake (from anywhere! 😊). Needless to say, their pastries of these varieties are also good.

KS Bakers

This is also one of the oldies of Hyderabad! So we get the burgers and pizzas done the old way 😊. Just their chicken burger retains the taste they have had since many years. The Chicken Tikka burger is not as good though, so if you have to make a choice then let it be the regular chicken burger. Any pizza you order there is bound to be good too. My favorite though is the Chicken Mexican pizza – has the right amount of spice and zing to it!

Brown Bear

To meet someone, I got down at Telugu Academy in Himayathnagar. And as fate would have it, there is a bakery right opposite to where I got down!! And it was inviting me to come and eat 😃. This bakery offers a lot of stuff, but I could only have their Blackforest Pastry, Chicken Puff and a Watermelon juice (the wait was long, you see 😉)! I’d definitely go back to this place if I went back to Himayathnagar anytime later!

Cafe Eclat

One fine morning, friends in a whatsapp group were talking about Bagels. And then I got into the desperate mood to eat a Bagel. And the only place that came to my mind was Café Eclat! Their bagels – plain sesame, pizza, sea salt flakes bagel – are as good as we get in the Western countries too. Not just this, am also a fan of their Sourdough Bread too! Infact, the Cheese Jalapeno Sourdough bread is even better than their already awesome Sourdough Bread. Infact, the Seedy bread is even better than their already awesome Sourdough breads!

Also had their Four Cheese Pizza and I would highly recommend this too. I had their Tiramisu too, but didn’t like it as much. This place has good sandwiches and burgers too, and is worth a visit.

Fusion9 (Eat9)

Snacks time! So I had this craving for Tiramisu, and knew this place would have it. What we didn’t expect was that the other snacks will be quite good too! We tried the Chicken Quiche (heard of Quiche innumerable times on MasterChef Australia) for the first time, and liked it very much. There was this pastry called the – Chocolate Log! It looked like an actual log :D, and tasted very very good! If you go here, this is a must have. Then we had a garden sandwich which was also good. And ofcourse, Tiramisu J. In summary, nice place to go.

Karachi Bakery

One of the best things that Karachi Bakery did was to expand across the city – because of this, we found it easier to get exposed to their awesome variety! Their cakes ofcourse are top-notch. They have fruit custard, English truffle, fruit truffle etc that are quite tasty too. We once tasted their cup-cakes and found them good too. Some of their pastries might not be palatable to a few – like the ones with chocolate overdose, but that is just a matter of opinion J. I haven’t tasted their samosas, burgers yet – sometime soon J

180 degree

This bakery is located on the Jubilee Hills main road. Small but elegant place – we have had Peri Peri Chicken, their refreshing sodas, pastries, and puffs. All of them tasted very good. But the best part I liked about this bakery is their Multi-grain bread – just the best ever in the city!

Just Bake

Went to this place a couple of times because it is right opposite to home. This one time the pastry was very fresh and it tasted good. But didn’t have the same freshness when we went a couple of more times. Had their puff and buns too – they were ok.

Step-in-Bakers

This Bakers is right at the Panjagutta junction. Amongst all the items, the one standing out was Chicken chaw chaw – had a mild taste with a sauce that had many vegetables in it! Otherwise, all other stuff we ate there was normal onlyl (fried rice, chicken 65, mutton 65 etc).

Price Range: ~ Rs.300-400 for 2 people
Location: Panajgutta circle

Vacs

I actually haven't been to this place, but have had food from here! We were at this friend's place and he tells he has snacks from Vacs - so without further delay we hog it! We had chicken croissants which were very good. There was another chicken variety too - looked like chicken puff but much softer - that was also very good. We had black forest pastry, which was also very good. Plus, some functions we attended had cakes from vacs - butter scotch, fruit cake - all these are also good. Maybe one of these days, will be visiting this place too! Stay tuned :D
